Ian has lived in Wallowa County since 1998, moving here from Central Oregon with his then fiance Heidi where they met studying Forestry at Central Oregon Community College. Ian and his wife grew up in the Portland area. Since moving to Wallowa County, Ian and his wife have raised a family while living on the family property near Lostine, adjacent to the Wallowa-Union railroad. Living and working in northeast Oregon has combined his passion for fisheries and all things in the natural world. This includes working for the and Grande Ronde Model Watershed and other non-profits in the region. His curiosity led him to another degree in Fish and Wildlife Science from Oregon State University. Currently, Ian is working as the Stewardship Manager for The Greater Hells Canyon Council where he helps restore watersheds by partnering with beavers. Ian is passionate about empowering people to live healthy lifestyles through experiencing the outdoors and connecting with nature. This is made possible through safe and reliable access to natural areas in our communities. In his free time, you will find him fly fishing, spending time with his family and friends or high in the Eagle Cap Mountains.
