Mary Hawkins came on as Project Coordinator in March 2025. She brings her deep experience with nonprofit organizations and much more to the JBTC Team. Mary grew up in the town of Wallowa and has two decades of community building experience, including serving as Office Manager of the Nez Perce Wallowa Homeland, where she oversaw installation of the footbridge linking the Homeland property to downtown Wallowa. The mother of three children, she enjoys spending time with her family, has a deep affinity for outdoor recreation and wilderness outfitting, and likes long walks, good books, raising chickens, and providing licensed poultry processing services. Mary was also involved in helping develop the 2014 Concept Plan for this trail, so she’s very familiar with the project.
